I Make Hydraulic Hose assemblies every day and some customers can bring upwards of 20 hoses. Every assembly can take a different size hose or different combination of fitting on each end. I need a way to make an assembly on the fly inside invoice to be fast and effective. I have been around with customer service to find a work around and we found nothing will work. Here is a description how my old software work. In an invoice I add a new item, I name the item (3020606444-12), I select the "kit" feature, I add the Item description (Hose Assembly), I add the part in inventory to the list (qty:2 for part 10643-4-4 fittings) and (qty:1 for part 302-4 hose). The price is totaled with all the parts used in the build list in a field which can be change if desired. Finally, I save the new part "kit" and it is entered into the invoice as followed. (qty:1 - Item number: 3020606444-12 - description: Hose Assembly - Price: $$.$$ )
It is quite often that I build hose assemblies that only get sold once and I can make up to 10,000 hoses a year. I also sell seal kits the same way but not so many.
