Current backup method is only from each company either manual or auto, which simply compress current Company folder into ptb file. If you have a lot of companies this might not be a way to do it (we have 49 Companies), plus not even sure how scheduler works for many companies like us. (Queue for overlapping job to next or can run simultaneously...) Also cannot see a progress of backup (you have to check each company for log). My suggestion is use Windows Backup or any similar backup app from Windows App to copy/compress/backup folders selected (Company folders F:\Data\Sage\Peachtree\Company) in file level. So instead of set up auto from each companies, whole folder can be backup one shot. This will solve scheduler issue as well. (No need to manually adjust overlapping time, since cannot know how long it will take to backup cannot even set correctly from beginning) This Back up app is not controllable, then batch file is ok as well but still needs scheduler and log. Only one problem with this is User may not close the company that some files may locked. So before this run, either kick out users, or bypass locked files (usually only lck files are the one cannot copy, rest still ok. And these files are not needed anyways. But if data was in use (saving/changing), backup file may corrupt). By the way, this is how we been backup all these time with Desktop version from Server.
