Sales histories and Sales Order histories are used to easily create new Sales Orders. However, the Sales Tax Jurisdiction for a different delivery location or status of the same delivery address may have changed.
Currently, SAGE50, does not update that information when the old on is invalid. This leads to a later dispute with customers and AR about the amount owed. It also creates future unnecessary complications in reporting and resolving Sales Tax Liabilities to the State or reporting government agency.
ANY new Sales Order should verify the Sales Tax code being used for the transaction. The current Sales Tax code for the delivery address should be used. A warning of change may be appropriate.
Do remember that the Sales Tax Codes are buried under several levels to get to and verify in the current program and are likely left to the accounting department to threaten Sales later while bitchin' about SAGE.
