When Changing the Accounting Period, it is offered to print multiple reports. While effectively a Pre-close for accountant/bookkeeper, these reports are useful.
However, the Application immediately prints to the default printer. This is bad as the default printer is likely a physical printer. The resulting output will be a HUGE WASTE OF PAPER.
Instead, the option to print to a specific printer should be enabled.
Firstly, because it would be preferred to print to a PDF or other electronic form. This is likely a Trial-Close and the documentation is being used to ensure all transactions and accruals have been posted.
Second, security may be an issue as some confidential information is included in the reports. These reports, if chosen to be physically printed, may be better directed to a faster mor economical printer than at the accountant's desk. Verification of which printer and when may be important.
Thirdly. A number of additional settings for the output may be desired including printing to double sided that are not the normal default.
Printing to PDF, the Microsoft PDF printer is a Windows included printer, would provide a solution to the faults of printing to a physical printer. Enabling the ability to chose the destination printer for ANY report at ANY time is essential and the Current implementation of Printing Reports when Changing Periods demonstrates a LACK of programming excellence and understanding of business operations by SAGE50.
