Add a search for inventory items using "description" keywords, inside the sales order & quote screens.
Say, there are hundreds or thousands of ID's, there is no way to know or remember them. But the users know the descriptions of the items they sell, and need to search for items in sales order by description.
At the moment, the inventory items have descriptions in them. When you are on the sales order page and try to type in the item that you are trying to sell, and type part of the description, and click search/find, nothing pops up. The search is not narrowed to the keyword of the item description.
The Item ID already have a search function, it would just have to be extended to description as well.
