The Most Common Date Range for reporting is the PREVIOUS MONTH. However, SAGE50(US) has no such date option. This makes Report Groups generally useless and provides little advantage. This is because the desire Date Range can be set without having to open the individual Report, apply a Custom Range and then Save the Report. This means nothing has really been gained except for an increase in dissatisfaction with SAGE50(US).
It would be best to apply a single date range for reports that operate on transaction Dates. A report may be included that is only an item list. This would help ensure the reports all have the same date range applied, it is so frustrating to have constantly have to change the range.
It’s bad enough that it takes 4 reports to generate a proper audit set and be able to report Sales Taxes to Sate jurisdictions.
The Total Sales on the Taxabale Exempt SAles report should always match the total sales from the Sales Journal Report, but it is easily allowable for the Sales Tax Code to be omitted on a transaction which causes that transaction to not be reported. Which is another failure but reason for the number of reports mentioned.
