This has annoyed me for decades! You can convert a quote to an invoice and select print now. Why can't you do this for a sales order? Most quotes we work with need to become sales orders so that we can pull items, verify inventory, calibrate what we are selling and verify/add serial numbers. All of this is written/checked off the printed sales order. Only then do we invoice. Presently you convert a quote to a sales order and then you have to open sales orders, then list sales orders, then pull up the sales order you need and finally print it. The sales order is your Picking Ticket to gather all the items and it needs to almost always be printed. Sage just wastes time with all this faffing about.
